Nissan Steps it up a Notch

Nissan Steps it up a Notch

The Nissan GT-R’s latest modifications are claimed to have a significant effect. The GT-R already performed superbly on performance and handling, reaching 0-62 in an incredible 3 seconds and achieving a top speed of 196mph. By altering the springs, dampers and bushes the car travels much smoother and keeps in better contact with the road surface. The unwanted noise levels are much reduced, yet still allow for the roar of the twin-turbo 3.8L V6 engine. The steering alterations make the GT-R more driver-friendly when navigating through the town and the foot pedals have better feel response. The exterior remains much the same, aside from a few LED light adjustments to enhance the cars stunning image. The Nissan GT-R is due on sale in January estimated around £79,000.

Productivity in Poland

Productivity in Poland

The Arrinera Hussaray has been revealed; the first supercar to be produced by Poland. The Hussaray was previewed as a concept car last year and has subsequently experienced significant modifications. Initially, the Polish supercar was expected to cost around £96,181, however after design alterations and changes in materials the price is expected to increase. The Hussaray will use a 6.2 litre V8 engine which has been adjusted to produce 641bhp and 818Nm of torque. The Polish supercar claims to accelerate from 0-62mph in just 3.2 seconds and 0-124mph in 8.9 seconds, with a top speed of 211mph. The supercar uses a sturdy steel chassis which has been designed by Lee Nobel, the man responsible for the British supercar brand Nobel. There is a carbon fibre exterior package keeping the kerb weight down to just 1300kg. The dimensions of the supercar as are follows; 4450mm long by 2056mm wide and 1190mm high, with 350mm performance brakes and 19 inch wheels. Venom GT’s Victory

Venom GT’s Victory

Hennessey’s supercar, the Venom GT has set a new top speed world record of 270mph; making it the world’s fastest car. The Venom GT already holds the record for fastest time from 0-300kmph in 13.63 seconds and 0-200mph in 14.51 seconds. The world’s top speed title was taken away from the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport which had previously set the record of 268mph in 2010. The new world record was set over a 3.2 mile stretch at Nasa’s Kennedy Space Centre in Florida. Unfortunately, it will not be verified as a Guinness World Record as that requires the average speed from two runs to be taken.

The Venom GT uses a 7.0 litre twin turbo GM sourced V8 engine with a highly modified Lotus Exige chassis. Former racing driver and tyre test engineer Brian Smith was behind the wheel setting this new record. Brian believes if the stretch had been longer, the GT would have reached an even higher top speed. Mr Smith accelerated from 20-120mph in just 7.71 seconds and then continued to accelerate at 1mph per second from 260-270 mph. Thus far, 11 Venom GT’s have been built and delivered around the world. They are custom built and priced at £720,000 plus shipping and any extras and take around 6 months to be completed.

Booming Britain

Booming Britain

UK car production is continuing to boom and was up by 12 per cent last month due to the growing demand from Europe for British manufactured cars. An astounding 80 per cent of UK built cars are exported overseas, with key foreign markets including China, Russia and the United States. The car industry is going from strength to strength; 142,158 cars were produced in March this year compared with the 126,909 cars produced in March 2013, with a 2.9 per cent increase on the total number of cars built thus far in 2014 compared to last year’s figures. If the market continues to thrive this way, it is believed the UK will be on track for a record breaking level of car produced by 2017.

A New Discovery

A New Discovery

Land Rover have released images of their upcoming Discovery Vision Concept which is due to be displayed next year at the New York Motor Show. It’s a very bold concept showing the potential design for a whole new range of Discovery’s. The interior offers a high level of sophistication in the design choices, with a touchpad screen taking a strong central position on the dashboard and minimalistic controls surrounding it. There is elaborate jewel style detailing throughout the car and individually reclining front and rear seats for additional luxury. Externally, the appearance has much smoother lines and is more aerodynamic. Land Rover believes the Discovery is a crucial foundation for the brand to build up from as it is well-regarded worldwide and has a considerably large customer base.  With the surge in SUV sales it makes sense for Land Rover to take advantage of this opportunity by expanding their Discovery family. Land Rover plan to make a more all-rounder style Discovery with more allure to draw the brand away from being an off-road muddy 4×4.
