Pre-1960 vehicles to be exempted from MoT

This week the Government has announced that from 18 November this year pre 1960 vehicles will be exempt from the annual MoT.

Roads Minister Mike Penning said, “we are committed to cutting out red tape which costs motorists money without providing significant overall benefits. Owners of classic cars and motorbikes tend to be enthusiasts who maintain their vehicles well – they don’t need to be told to look after them, they’re out there in all weathers checking the condition of the engine, tyres and bodywork.

Owners of classic vehicles will still be legally required to ensure that they are safe and in a proper condition to be on the road but scrapping the MoT test for these vehicles will save motorists money.”

AA president Edmund King said of the decision, “cutting the red tape of an MoT requirement for classic pre-1960 cars is a victory for common sense.”

Mazda and Fiat to develop new roadsters

Fiat and Mazda have announced plans to jointly develop two new 2-seater roadster sports cars; one for Mazda and one Fiat’s Alfa Romeo brand. Both cars will be powered by engines from their respective brands.

Mazda President Takashi Yamanouch said of the plans, “establishing technology and product development alliances is one of Mazda’s corporate objectives, and this announcement with Fiat is an important first step in that direction”.Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne said, “this agreement clearly demonstrates our commitment to Alfa

Romeo and the determination to grow it into a truly global brand. By partnering with Mazda, we will be co-operating with the recognized leader in compact rear-drive vehicle architectures in order to deliver an exciting and stylish roadster in the Alfa Romeo tradition”.

Both models will be built at Mazda’s plant in Hiroshima. Production of the Alfa Romeo model is planned to commence in 2015, and the new Maxda is due to arrive in 2014.

Hi,

It maybe odd to mark your service with an ‘excellent’ when we didn’t actually take any finance with you!

However I feel the value of the honest and impartial advice received from Ruth Robinson is worthy of such recognition, it allowed us to make an informed decision and as such I wouldn’t hesitate in considering using your services in the future, should circumstance dictate.

I would also like to comment on the very relaxed and professional manner in which your service was introduced to us via Chris Morreta at Lawton Brook.

It was refreshing not to experience the usual  predatory approach often found within the sales department of the motor industry towards finance.

All in all a five. An excellent service!

Hi Claire,

I have to say the service so far has been excellent and Luke is definitely a credit to your company, so much so that after receiving the quote I posted some details on the GTR owners club website and had 3 people ask me for his details, to which I duly obliged.

I’ll definitely be in touch once again when the right car comes along.

Thanks
Mike

From the point of initial contact to the end conclusion of securing the finance, I can honestly say that Waseem has restored my faith that there are reputable individuals out there who do what they say they are going to do and in turn deliver a solution that is mutually rewarding to both parties.  Throughout the whole process I can only say that Waseem’s attitude to customer service and satisfaction has been commendable and exemplary.

A compliment to an individual who went above and beyond within an organisation that was accommodating and understanding. Well done Oracle Finance I will without hesitation recommend you to anyone that is looking for future funding towards their dream cars. I for one am loving my Audi R8!!
