Ferrari has revealed a special edition of the 458 Italia to celebrate their 20th anniversary of importing cars into China.

The 20 exclusive special edition cars will only be for the Chinese market.

The cars will be finished in a brand new one off colour – Marco Polo Red and have a Chinese theme running throughout. Features include; gold wheels, gold and black stripes on the roof, a golden dragon on the bonnet, headrests embroidered in gold, a 20th Anniversary Special Edition plaque on the dash board and inscribed on the starter button is the Chinese characters for ‘start’.

The 458 will make its debut at a permanent exhibition at the Shanghai World Expo Park.

Land Rover Speeding Ahead to Goodwood

There is a new Special Vehicle Operations team at Jaguar Land Rover which focuses on high performance models. As a result, Range Rover engineers have been hard at work to produce the fastest ever Range Rover Sport. A prototype is to be tested on the legendary hill at Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, allowing people to hear the thunder under the bonnet of the 542bhp 5.0 litre Supercharged V8 engine. Performance figures suggest the new SRV model will accelerate from 0-62mph in just 4.8 seconds; improving on the current 5.3 second sprint time. The prototypes camouflaged exterior disguises the significant alterations to the appearance, including a lower front bumper with more prominent side sills. In addition to this, firmer suspension, torque vectoring and active body control to limit roll will also be incorporated. The new Range Rover will be sold through Land Rover showrooms and it is to be manufactured alongside the standard model. The price is anticipated to be just below £100,000 and you can expect the model to be in showrooms before the end of the year. Next on the agenda, the Special Vehicle Operations team plan to begin working on a new Evoque with a 2.0 litre turbo engine producing 300bhp.

The new Lamborghini SUV made its debut at the Beijing Motor Show this week.

The SUVs name; Urus is taken from the world of bulls, as has been Lamborghini’s tradition.

“SUVs stand for freedom and emotion; they are one of the most successful market segments worldwide. The Urus is the most extreme interpretation of the SUV idea; it is the Lamborghini of SUVs,” Lamborghini president Stephan Winkelmann said at Beijing.

It is anticipated that the Uris could be in showrooms by 2015.

Victoria Beckham has designed a new Evoque, which she launched at the Beijing Motor Show this week. Only 200 of the “Range Rover Evoque Special Edition with Victoria Beckham” cars will be available worldwide.

The Evoque is finished in matt grey along with contrasting black gloss on the wheel arches, wheels, roof and bonnet vents.

Last week the Evoque was named ‘Women’s World Car of the Year’ by a panel of female motor writers from across 12 counties with the BMW 3 Series in second place and the Audi Q3 in third.

First delivers are expected in October 2012 with a price tag of £79,995 (double the cost of a standard Evoque).

BMW have unveiled a special edition M3 in a new colour; Frozen Silver, which will only be available for UK buyers.

Only 100 of the special edition Coupes, which are part of BMW M GmbH’s 40th anniversary celebrations, will be made.

Each of the high performance Coupes will have a plaque on the centre console which will simply read ‘one of 100’.

The car goes on sale on 1 June and will be priced at £58,720.

A rare Ferrari has changed hands at an auction event in Monaco for a staggering £4 million becoming one of the world’s most valuable cars.

The 1957 Ferrari 625 TRC Spider is just one of two ever built and was first owned by an

American racing driver. For the last 30 years it has been in the same family.

Richard Merritt, a Ferrari historian called it “one of the prettiest Ferraris ever built”.

First pictures of the new Arbath 695 Maserati edition have been released following its unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show.

The new model will be finished in Pontevecchio Bordeaux paint (a Maserati colour) and with a grey fabric soft top.

Only 499 will be made; each will be individually numbered.

The limited edition model will hit showrooms towards the end of the year and will be priced at £32,000.
