Meet the New 2016 Audi S4.

Audi has revealed its new S4 saloon and Avant models at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Considered to be Audi’s response to the BMW 340i and Jaguar XE S, the new S4 comes with more power, less weight and a new 3.0-litre TFSI turbo V6 petrol engine.

According to Audi, power is increased from 328bhp to 349bhp, with 0-62mph reached in 4.7-secs and a top speed of 155mph. The new S4 also claims a combined fuel economy figure of 38.2mpg and emissions of 170g/km.

Both, the S4 saloon and S4 Avant feature Audi’s Quattro four-wheel drive system, in addition to a new eight-speed automatic tiptronic gearbox, which cuts weight and improves durability. The new S4 is about 55kg lighter than its predecessor, due to the combination of alumium and steel used in its construction.

The exterior is typical to an Audi S design, but with a new-look rear bumper and diffuser, matt grey finish to the mirror housings and trim and a quartet of exhaust tips.

Inside there’s leather and alcantara ‘S’ sports seats, illuminated door sill trims and Audi’s new ‘virtual cockpit’ digital dash display with a 12.3in screen and a 3D sat-nav display.

Although prices have not been officially announced yet, a premium of around 10% over the outgoing car, which started at £39,610 for the saloon, is expected.  The new S4 models will go on sale in 2016.

The New Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet is Revealed.

The New Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet is Revealed.

The new 2016 S Class Cabriolet made its official debut at the Frankfurt motor show last week.

This is Daimler’s first luxury open-topped four-seater since 1971 and is the sixth and final member of the S-Class line-up.

Based on the two-door S-class coupe, the rival to the Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible uses aluminium and magnesium in key areas to keep weight down and Mercedes claims that its bodykit is no heavier than that of the S-class Coupe.

Two versions will be made available from launch, the S500, which will feature a 449bhp twin-turbo 4.7-litre V8 engine, and the S63 AMG, which is powered by a 577bhp 5.5-litre bi-turbo V8 engine and can reach 62mph in 3.9secs, at a limited speed of 155mph.

The exterior is similar to the coupe with elegant lines and a smooth soft- top roof that leaves the profile unsullied when closed.

The interior includes new technology to make the experience as luxurious as possible.  A new Thermotronic climate control adjusts automatically depending on whether the roof is up or down and measures humidity on the windscreen to prevent fogging. Similarly, the new convertible will get the Aircap and Airscarf systems which provide extra wind protection and vent warm air at the occupants, respectively, as well as, heated armrests, rear heated seats and fully automatic climate control on the specification list.

The new S-Class convertible will reach the UK early next year with prices expected to start around £110,000 for the S500 variant.
