E-Type voted greatest British car
Readers of BBC Top Gear Magazine have voted the Jaguar E-Type as the greatest British car.
The Aston Martin V12 Vantage and DB5 were joint second in the survey.
Editor-in-chief of Top Gear Magazine, Charlie Turner said: “In a land responsible for the creation of some of the world’s most iconic cars, the Jaguar E-Type still stands out.”
At its launch at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show, Jaguar took over 500 orders. 72,007 Jaguar E-types were built in total.
