Lotus Sales Hit 7 Year High

Lotus has announced a 55% increase in global sports car sales for the 2014/15 financial year, their best sales result since 2008/09.

Sales were up across all markets, with UK volume doubling to 346 cars.  Only the Japanese market performed better, with sales increasing 103% to 365 cars.  US volumes were disappointing however, up just 24% to 245 units.

The brand is looking to new models such as the Lotus Evora 400 (pictured) to tackle this problem, stating that they expect Evora sales to “change radically with the launch of the Evora 400 in August”.  With a top speed of 186mph, the Evora 400 is the fastest production Lotus yet built.

The brand’s strong performance in 2014/15 was underpinned by the Elise range, which recorded an 80% volume increase to 729 cars.  Lotus also expanded its dealer network in the year, adding 36 outlets and taking the global total to 174.
