A Glimpse Into The Future Of Audi TT.
Audi has revealed its new Audi TT Clubsport Turbo concept, hinting at the German car maker’s plans for future models.
With an eye-catching rear wing, the heavily reworked two-seater features a newly developed 2.5-litre five-cylinder petrol engine and two electrically driven turbochargers, boosting a total power output of 592bhp. Audi claims that the new TT Clubsport needs just 3.6 seconds to sprint to 62 mph at a top speed of approximately 192 mph.
Audi’s head of research and development, Ulrich Hackenberg, said that the car is closed to production and stated that “electric turbocharging signifies a new dimension.” He added that Audi is the first car maker to present the electric turbocharging on both diesel and petrol engines.
Another key technology from Audi is the 48V electrical system, which supplies electrical energy to the E-Turbo system and can also be used to power all the conventional 12‑volt electrical ancillary features.
More details of the new TT Clubsport will be revealed at the 2015 Wörthersee tuning festival on the 13th of May 2015.
