A 1967 Ferrari 275 goes on sale after 3 decades of ‘hibernation’!

A remarkable, 1967 metallic blue Ferrari 275GTB/4 that has been left dormant for more than 3 decades will go up for sale at Gooding & Company’s Amelia Island on 13th March.

The car was sold new in 1967 in Rome and it was regularly driven until 1972 when it was imported to the US by a retired pilot, who dealt with exotic sports cars. During that year, the car was again sold to an enthusiast who exhibited the car at several shows. As the car increased in value, its owner became reluctant to drive it. By 1982 the Ferrari retired completely it remained un-driven up until very recently.

Throughout the 33-years of hibernation the car wasn’t registered, driven or even started! David Gooding, president of Gooding & Co, said “A Ferrari of this kind is what every collector dreams of finding and will never tire of its extraordinary quality and transcendent style.”

The classic Ferrari, which has been treasured by the same owner for 43 years, is expected to sell for between £2.2m -2.5m.
