Alpina reveal the new 600bhp B7

Alpina has revealed its latest adaptation of BMW’s 7-series.  The B7 will be built to Alpina specifications, with higher levels of luxury and performance for the range-topper.

The B7 will use the same BMW 4.4 litre, twin-turbo V8, with Alpina’s tuning delivering 600bhp and a hefty 590lb ft of torque.  The impressive B7 will be capable of 0-60mph in 3.6 seconds and an estimated top speed of 193mph.  Engine improvements come as a result of tweaking the air intake system, air filters and cooling systems, with a new air to water intercooler fitted.

Upgrades include Mahle pistons, NGK spark plugs and a full stainless steel exhaust system to reduce back pressure.  Traction for the four-wheel drive system is improved, with Alpina’s Switch-tronic setup on the 8-speed transmission, and the driving modes have been increased to include Sport Mode and Launch Control.

The B7’s suspension can be lowered or raised by an inch to suit the driving surface, and Dynamic Damper Control with Active Roll Stabilisation is fitted to keep the 7-series body in check.  The new model features Alpina’s classic 20-spoke alloy wheels, complete with high performance brakes.

The subtle B7 body kit boasts two twin-tailipipes, optional Deko set and the choice of Alpina’s traditional blue and green metallic paint finishes.  Inside there’s an individual model plaque, bespoke leather with blue and green stitching and new trim panels.

The B7 will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, when pricing details are expected to be released.
